Isla en bahía Caulín, Chiloé Maravillosa isla en la ribera norte de la isla de Chiloé, a 3 km de Chacao, donde llega el transbordador que cruza desde Pargua (continente)
La isla Lacao tiene 84 hectáreas y está ubicada en una tranquila bahía muy turística e ideal para los amantes del avistamiento de aves ya que alberga aves migratorias, flamencos, cisnes de cuello negro, garzas, patos y gaviotas. La isla tiene una pequeña colonia de ciervos Gamo... que habitan en los bosques de coigues y arrayanes al centro de la isla.
En el lado norte tiene 30 metros sobre el nivel del mar y colinda con el canal de Chacao, océano Pacifico. Hacia el sur decrece la altura hasta llegar al nivel del mar. Tiene una entrada de mar al sur que con altas mareas conforma una bahía natural que puede transformarse en una marina para embarcaciones menores. Tiene tranquilas playas a cubierto del viento que están en la parte baja de la isla con orientación este y oeste.
Además se vende terreno de 7.000 metros cuadrados en la costa frente a la isla. Este terreno se usa como apoyo logístico para la isla. Tiene derechos de agua inscrito en la DGA sobre un estero que pasa por el terreno y desemboca en las aguas de mar de la Bahía de Caulin. Cuenta con conexión eléctrica del cual se puede empalmar una conexión submarina hacia la isla. la profundidad máxima del mar en ese sector es de 8 metros en el centro y la distancia entre la isla y este terreno es de 700 metros.
Hoy está en construcción el Puente colgante Chacao que conectará el continente con la Isla de Chiloé. La distancia en auto desde Puerto Montt será de tan solo 35 minutos.
Marvelous island on the north shore of Chiloé Island, 3km from Chacao, where the ferry arrives from Pargua (continent) Lacao island has 84 hectares and is located on a calm bay, which is a tourist attraction spot especially for migratory bird watching, harbour to flamingos, black neck swans, herons, ducks and seagulls. There is a small colony of deer on the central part of the island that live between coigues and arrayanes. On the north part of the island there is a 30-metre cliff bordering Chacao canal and the Pacific Ocean. On the south the altitude decreases to the level of the sea. There is a sea entrance on the south which makes a natural bay on high tide and could be a future dock for small boats. On the lower side of the island facing east there are beaches sheltered from the wind. There is a 7.000 m2 lot on the coast facing the island on sale as well which is ideal as a logistic support spot for the island. There are registered water rights from a stream that runs through the plot and flows into the Caulin Bay. Electric connection is available and can be taken to the island by underwater connection; 8-metre depth and 700-metre distance. The Chacao bridge is currently under construction and will connect the island with the continent in a 35-minute car drive from Puerto Montt.
